How do I change my dog onto James Wellbeloved complete dog food?

When changing your dog's diet, it is important to do it gradually over a period of up to seven days. This is necessary so that your dog’s digestive system can become accustomed to the new food. Whether you’re changing from canned food or from another dry food, start by mixing a small amount of the James Wellbeloved with the previous food. Over the next few days, steadily increase the amount of the James Wellbeloved while reducing the amount of the previous food, until you are feeding your dog entirely on the James Wellbeloved. Changing gradually in this way should avoid any digestive upset and your dog should take readily to the new food.

Does James Wellbeloved complete dog food contain any unhealthy artificial additives?

No, it does not. As well as being a hypo-allergenic food, James Wellbeloved is natural and wholesome. Unlike some other brands of dog food, we do not add any artificial flavours, preservatives or colours. There is no added BHT, BHA or ethoxyquin. And the antioxidants that we use are natural Vitamin E and Vitamin C.

Does it matter if I moisten the food?

You can serve James Wellbeloved either with or without added water in the bowl, according to your dog's preference.

For the best dental and oral hygiene, we recommend that James Wellbeloved should be fed dry or lightly moistened, to allow the crunchy biscuits to clean your dog’s teeth.

For added palatability, it is sometimes a good idea to add a small quantity of warm water to the dry food. This brings out the smell of the gravy, which many dogs adore!

If your dog has tender teeth or gums, you can soak the food until it is soft before feeding.

Some dry dog foods recommend they are soaked before feeding as those foods can swell up when mixed with water in the dog's stomach. James Wellbeloved does not swell up significantly when wetted, so this is not a problem with our food.

Always supply plenty of clean fresh drinking water at all times.

Do I need to add any other food to the James Wellbeloved?

No, you don’t. James Wellbeloved is a complete dry dog food containing all the nutrients, vitamins and minerals that your dog requires for a full, healthy life. The food has been carefully formulated so that it is both nutritionally complete and also correctly balanced. Therefore you don’t need to add any extra food or any supplements to James Wellbeloved. In fact, doing so would probably upset the nutritional balance of the food. It is designed to be fed on its own (with a separate bowl of fresh drinking water) and this way will meet all your dog's nutritional requirements.

Which variety of James Wellbeloved should I choose for my dog?

The best variety for you to select will depend on your dog’s age, breed, activity level and weight. All those factors will affect the nutritional requirements of your dog. In view of this, James Wellbeloved have a complete range of dog food that will cater for your dog's needs whatever their stage of life, from puppies to senior citizens! How much should I be feeding my dog?

The correct amount of food to serve will be determined by your dog’s age, weight and activity level. Does James Wellbeloved complete dog food contain undesirable 'animal derivatives' e.g. beaks and feathers?

No, it does not. Unlike many other dog foods, we do not conceal our ingredients by listing them in mysterious categories like "meat and animal derivatives" or "derivatives of vegetable origin".

Our company believes that to make the best food you need the best ingredients. For example in our Lamb & Rice Kibble we use lamb meat meal from grass-fed New Zealand lamb and the Turkey & Rice Kibble uses purely turkey meat meal. We are very proud of the fact that we use only the highest quality ingredients and list them fully and clearly on our packs and literature.
